The Surf
The South Malé Atoll is a premier surf destination, offering access to a variety of world-class reef breaks in warm, crystal-clear waters. Surf is possible year-round, though the prime season runs from April to October, when changing swell directions bring increased consistency and more reliable conditions. During this period, waves are typically chest-high and can occasionally reach slightly overhead, creating fun conditions across a range of breaks and skill levels. Guests also enjoy access to nearby surf experiences through the neighboring adults-only sister resort, including Veli Left—a quick, hollow wave that can be paddled out to directly from the island. With a range of nearby breaks, the area offers something for every surfer.
