The Surf
Playa Negra and the surrounding area offers consistent surf all year long and a wide variety of waves for surfers of all levels. November to April is the ideal time for beginner and intermediate surfers with smaller to medium-size waves on tap, and the biggest swells of the year will typically roll through from May to October. These waves range from gentle sand-bottom rollers perfect for beginners, to fun beach breaks and more powerful reef breaks for intermediate to more advanced surfers.
